how on earth did you (alex) think i got my TRI-x developed?

i am happy to see somebody else from australia, i live in melbourne, and the people at film plus, are very helpful and do a great job. they process around 20 rolls of ecktachrome and tri-x per week.

do not know how many plus-x

also, i think the new film vision 400? is available in sydney.

    Hey Mishkin!

You probably know by my post that I stumbled across Film plus and a few others places just recently.

Have you had any film telecined by those guys at all? Whats the quality like?

yeah, i had one hour of footage transfered to digital tape for $130, or there abouts. the quality was great, no jumps from splices, the film was pretty clean, i projected it only once. i think they will clean the film for a small charge, check that first though.

    so you are in melbourne?

    Nah man, on the west.

Had been finding it really hard locally for info, stock and just anything in general about super8. But I am getting there.

Whats your setup? At the moment I have a Canon 518 SV and a hanimex projector.

    hey the westie, sorry.

well i have been lucky in the cameras i have been able to obtain,
    2 sankyo cm400,
    1 sankyo cm440,
    1 hannimex xl25,
    2 canon 518sv,
    1 yashica electro600,

i have 2 editors rigged up so i can edit two seperate films at same time, 2 splicers, tape splicer, projector.

in the lighting dept i use soley 500watt quartz halogen lamps, i have 7 rigged with tripods and barn doors. i like this type of lamp because it's cheap, flexible, and ideal for my uses with tri-x.

in the junk dept, i have reflectors, a dolly with tracks, 1 gauze, 1 white screen, etc etc.

i do love to talk about my stuff, mostly because it cost me nearly nothing, (i built it all)about $40AU per light.

and compared to the advice many people have offered about lights, (not only on the net) the bill would be up to around $2000AU, money i would prefer to spend on film.

on the camera front, while i would like the great canon 1018(?) i have had great images from my cameras, but i suppose if your aspirations outpace your camera, it is time to upgrade!

what are you filming in the west?
